Private sector should take lead of economic growth: Minister Yadav

Minister of Industry Mahendra Prasad Yadav has on Friday said that the country's economy  could not make a desirable leap until and unless the  private sector grows vibrantly.

While speaking at an interaction program held by CNI (Confederation of Nepalese Industry) in the capital Yadav said, "The government is committed to act as only facilitator and regulator while framing any related laws so that the private sector can take the lead in economic growth of the country."

He also said that the proposed industrial policy would give due priority to recommendations and suggestions forwarded by entrepreneurs of the country.

Speaking on the occasion, Binod Kumar Chaudhary, president, CNI, urged the ministry of industry to include vital agendas related to industrial development in comprehensive and clear manner in the proposed industrial policy.

He also stressed that the proposed policy should chalk out such provisions and incentives that will enhance the industrial outlook of the country by motivating both national and foreign industries.

"The establishment of special economic zones (SEZs), export promotion region and industrial corridor, among other such facilities, can go a long way in bolstering the industrial performance of the country," Chaudhary prescribed. nepalnews.com
