Finance Minister Surendra Pandey on Saturday said that the government is planning to introduce a new system to make the business and industrial sectors "transparent".
While addressing a programme organised by the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) employee union in the capital, he also divulged that his ministry was taking steps to limit perks and benefits to be paid to chief executive officers of the corporate houses including banks and financial institutions.
The NRB has already informed the Nepal Bankers' Association (NBA) about its plans to make guidelines aiming to limit their pay. The NBA is a forum of CEOs of the commercial banks.
As per the central bank, the perks and salary of a CEO of a national level commercial bank ranges from Rs 500,000 to Rs 1.4 million.
Pandey also urged NRB employees to fathom the ground reality of the nation’s economy and added the government will come up with new strategies to solve labour disputes.
According to him, additional measures will be taken to include private sector labourers in the net. According to MoF’s estimate, 1.91 million people can be included in the net. nepalnews.com
