Football team leaves for SAFF championship

The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) bid farewell to the national football team amid a small program at ANFA Complex, Satdobato, Lalitpur, Thursday.

The Nepal national team flew to Kolkata Thursday to play two friendly matches against Mohun Bagan and Chirag United.  Nepal team will reach Dhaka, Bangladesh on 2nd December. The SAFF Championship is starting from 4th December.

ANFA requested former Nepal Coach Shyam Thapa to fix some friendly matches in India.

At the function, ANFA advisors Anil Shah, CEO of Nabil Bank, CP Khetan from Khetan Group and Shekhar Golcha from Golcha Organization announced a prize reward for the national team if they win the trophy or cross the group stage.

The advisors will provide 100,000 rupees to all 20 members of the team if they win and 40,000 each if they reach the semifinals.

The Nepal national team is as follows:

GK: Bikash Malla, Ritesh Thapa

DF: Anjan KC, Captain Rakesh Shrestha, Robin Shrestha, Biraj Maharjan, Sagar Thapa, Chun Bahadur Thapa, Rohit Chand

MF: Sandeep Rai, Bijay Gurung, Bhola Silwal, Yogesh Shrestha, Ranjit Shrestha, Raju Tamang, Nirajan Khadka

FW: Santosh Sahukhala, Chetan Ghimire, Jumanu Rai, Anil Gurung

Coaches: Krishna Thapa (HC), Maheshowr Mulmi (Assistant Coach)

Goalkeeping Coach: Upendra Man Singh

Its very pleasing news that Nepali football is awake once again. I want thanks
the advisory group to show interest to uplift the footballers.. Hope the
