The government has stopped issuing new FM radio licenses in various nine districts including Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur saying the number of frequency distributed had reached a saturation point.

Minister for Information and Communications Shanker Pokharel decided to stop issuing new FM radio licenses in Sunsari, Chitwan, Kaski, Rupandehi, Banke and Parsa districts, in addition to the three districts in Kathmandu valley, Friday.

Likewise, the government has also decided not to issue new FM licenses for radio stations with more than 100 watts capacity.

The decisions were taken as per the recommendations made by a committee formed to study the state of frequency distribution of FM radios and make suggestions for improvement.

More than 300 licenses for FM radio operation have been distributed.

However, only 182 of them have come into operation so far. nepalnews.com

Let us liberate Nepal from the polution of Horn and high speed on the
roads
which has caused accidents and unnecessary deaths and injuries every day.
There
is no security due to this madness and lawlessness. Our rulers don't see
this
problem, perhaps they are too busy plotting on when and how to seize
political
power and fulfill their personal interest. Only the police and the
ambulance may
be allowed to sound horn at the time of emrgency, but blowing
horn is supposed
to be an offence on the public roads !! Where is the rule of
law in our country
?? dear brothers and sisters let us oppose this culture of
noisy and danger to
bring civilisation in our country also. The Government and
the police are the
sole responsible, but they don't feel it that way

Noisy and danger Nepal !!!!!!!!!!!!
Only the police and ambulance are
supposed
to blow horn at the time of emergancy. The rest of the drivers should
not be
allowed to blow horn and drive recklessly causing unnecessary tragic
accidents,
deaths and injuries. WE Nepali have copied all bad cultures from the
west but
failed to bring the good cultures along with the technologies and
scince. Now
even in the remotest country we are immitating the westerners. Dear
all let us
give our best effort and see if we can bring some changes in our
society as
well. sounding horn without a valid reason is an offence in other
country why
not here. Why the police don't see things this way?
