A man was killed and two other persons seriously injured in a car accident along the Siddhartha Highway of Rupandehi district on Saturday night.

The deceased has been identified as Binaya Kumar Joshi, bank manager of the Bhairahawa branch of Himalayan Bank and a resident of Kathmandu.

The car, heading to Bhairahawa from Butwal, had lost control and hit a tree on the side of the road at Padsari along the Butwal-Bhairahawa road section of the highway. The cause behind the accident is not known yet.

Joshi was immediately rushed to Bhairahawa Medical College where he died while undergoing treatment.

The other two injured - Kumar Lama, the car driver, and Deependra Bhattarai, have been brought to Kathmandu for treatment. nepalnews.com
