Lonely Planet, the largest travel guide-book and digital media publisher, has included Nepal in its 'Best in Travel 2010' list released Monday.

Nepal features sixth on the list of top ten countries to visit in 2010 as recommended by Lonely Planet. El Salvador, Germany, Greece, Malaysia, Morocco, New Zealand, Portugal, Suriname, and the United States are the other countries in the list.

They'll take you from the familiar to the far away, both geographically and culturally, and more than likely have you reaching for your travel bag, says Lonely Planet about the destinations mentioned.

It chose Nepal for its trekking routes. nepalnews.com

Yes, as I said, Nepal has always been the tourists fovorite. Wherever you go,
whoever you speak and say that you are from Nepal, they say 'this is the place I
want to be" or 'best part of the world". Geographically, Nepal situated
in the best location - sandwiched between world's most populaous and powerful
countries. Nepal has everything tourists need. People, Nature and our unique
culture will be more than enough. ALL WE NEED IS PEACE, NO MORE DOGS FIGHTS, NO
MORE KOIRALAS, NO PRACHANDA, NO MADHAV, AND ALL THESE CORRUPT POLITICIANS WHO
HAS NO VISION FOR THE PEOPLE OF NEPAL.

Liz like shiraz said u r mistaken and infact the list you are talkin about is
the top ten regions not the countries.

Liz,
I think you're mistaken. The atricle above is correct. It has also appeared
in Sydney's MX (05/11 print). New Zealand tops the list while Nepal falls in top
10. Unfortunately, OZ didn't make it into top 10

The list quoted in this article is curious, because in Australia we have been
given a different list for Lonely Planet's "best in travel 2010" (see
http://www.news.com.au/perthnow/story/0,21598,2628 6034-2761,00.html)
The list
we have been given is: Bali; India's Goa; Alsace in eastern France; Oaxaca in
Mexico; Southern Africa; Fernando de Noronha - an archipelago off Brazil's
coast; Cambodia's Koh Kong Conservation Corridor; Lake Baikal in Siberia; the
Lake District in England; the South-West of Western Australia.

Its nice to hear that lonely planet have chosen Nepal as the 6th best place in
the world to visit. Its all because of the great natural beauty around the
Nepal, but out poliican must know that if they keep pulling each other's legs
and keep bloking the roads, then it will give a very bad impact to the tourist.
so please be responsible and if there's any matters you guys ( politicians )
want to solve plase do it inside the parliament house not on the roads.
