A delegation of the NRN National Coordination Council submitted memorandums to Ambassador Dr Shankar Sharma at the Nepalese Embassy in Washington DC and Gyan Chandra Acharya, Nepal’s permanent representative to the United Nations in New York, demanding dual citizenship to NRNs.

The memorandum addressed to Constituent Assembly chairman Subash Nemwang, Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Constitutional Committee Chairman Nilambar Acharya and Fundamental Rights Committee’s Chairperson Binda Pandey was received at the embassy by Ambassador Dr Sharma in presence of Deputy Chief of Mission Kali P. Pokhrel, Military Attache, First Secretary and Second Secretary.

Ambassador Dr Sharma assured the delegation to forward their concern immediately to the persons addressed.

Similarly, Nepal’s permanent representative to the UN in New York Gyan Chandra Acharya also assured the delegation that the Mission would promptly forward the copies of the memorandum to the concerned dignitaries in Nepal through Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Non Resident Nepalese Association has been advocating for dual citizenship and has taken up a campaign to visit all embassies through more than 50 National Coordination Councils of NRN worldwide and hand over the same. nepalnews.com

I surprize for the demand of duel citizenship from these NRN people. If they want
to serve their country why they need duel citizenship. After being in europe for
more than 8 year what i know that more than 90%nepali people are living there by
working in hotel, restaurant and gas station. Not every body is Upendra Mahato??.
and till date all these NRN who are residing in develope country have not send
single money to their family rather than after 20 year they come Nepal to claim
for their property. We know that Our country economy is supported by the poor
NRN who are working in Gulf and Malasiya but not from USA and other develop
country.
So they are an oppertunist NRN who should be denied for duel
citizenship. We can live at our own as we are living now.

Grapes are sour for the fox.

In us and canada, and many other countries they
have dual citizenship system, do u think mr ashirwad us and ca people are
bhatuwas.

Now nepal is in the grip of bandh hadtal kabja loadshedding so the
economy is down to knees, who is supporting it is bhatuwas remmitance,
Actually
bhatuwas are nepalese politicians who stand like chinese and indian. For
example one is advocating for hindi language and the other is trying to
implement maobad....
Politicians who go to visit foreign countries spending
peoples money holding pan can be rather termed as bhatuwa.
You can`t blame
nepalese brothers as bhatuwa who live in foreign countries, for some reason like
better jobs, education, research etc and who want to share their experience and
belongings to nepal, .

Yes its true though, why are the NRN are wasting their time negotiating with
nepalese govt? NRN should get someone ideaS from sujata koirala how she got all
those 3 citizen?? or may be ask her how to buy nepalese citizen?? then you can
just dump the money on their face, then you got it!!!! you can even get 72
district citizen if you want. Its true ask Sujata koirala.....god bless koirala
family.

I believe, the dual citizen system in Nepal is already existed for the
developmats and those of their relatives for example - our honourable deputy
priminister Ms Sujata Koirala (I guess she hold 3 citizens - Nepalese, Indian
and Germany). While she was in the UK on visit (while Maoxist were on
government), she said, she would take the request seriously. Now she is forgein
minister. It is a fantastic approach by the NRN USA but I do not think our
minister care about it.

Hi guys in USA, Are you all aware that the first and foremost proirity of this
ambasador to USA Mr Shanker Sharma is to release terrorist tag for MaoBadi. So
he may be very busy with that and you may need to wait till his tenure expires.
