A delegation of the NRN National Coordination Council submitted memorandums to Ambassador Dr Shankar Sharma at the Nepalese Embassy in Washington DC and Gyan Chandra Acharya, Nepal’s permanent representative to the United Nations in New York, demanding dual citizenship to NRNs.
The memorandum addressed to Constituent Assembly chairman Subash Nemwang, Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Constitutional Committee Chairman Nilambar Acharya and Fundamental Rights Committee’s Chairperson Binda Pandey was received at the embassy by Ambassador Dr Sharma in presence of Deputy Chief of Mission Kali P. Ambassador Dr Sharma assured the delegation to forward their concern immediately to the persons addressed.
Similarly, Nepal’s permanent representative to the UN in New York Gyan Chandra Acharya also assured the delegation that the Mission would promptly forward the copies of the memorandum to the concerned dignitaries in Nepal through Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
