The erstwhile Chief District Officer (CDO) of Parsa assaulted by state minister Karima Begum at his office about two months ago Durga Prasad Bhandari has been appointed director-general of Department of Prison Management.

The Home Ministry appointed Bhandari as the DG of the prison management department after the position fell vacant when the Council of Ministers transferred erstwhile DG Yam Kumar Kandel to industry ministry.

State Minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives Karima Begum had slapped Bhandari, when he was the CDO of Parsa, reportedly for failing to send a good car to pick her up from the airport.

He was recalled to Kathmandu by the home ministry following the incident to prevent the employees agitation from aggravating.

Bhandari had not been given any responsibility for the past two months. nepalnews.com

This is another slap in the face of former CDO Bhandari.. It would be acceptable
if he was transferred to other district office rather than sending him to prison
department. It shows how much power lies with the **g politican's..... They can
play out any matter......
