National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has said, it is encouraged by the government initiation to implement its recommendations against Human Rights (HR) violations.
Issuing a press release Wednesday, NHRC has said it is happy to learn the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM) had corresponded to three concerned ministries, home, defense and peace and reconstruction, instructing them to help implement the commission's recommendations.
OPMCM had written last Friday to the three ministries seeking information on the implementation of NHRC's recommendations so far. It has asked the ministries to send information on the recommendations implemented so far and compensations provided to the victims with the name of the victims as soon as possible.
Earlier, NHRC had written to the government on August 4, with a compendium of HR violations since its inception in May 2000 and recommended for action against the guilty and compensation to the victims. nepalnews.com
