Consumption of petroleum products increases amid Dashain

Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has stated that consumption of petroleum products has increased significantly as Dashain begins. Spokesperson of NOC, Vinitmani Upadhyay, said that the increase in consumption began on September 17 and has remained constant.

According to him, sales of all types of fuel including cooking gas, petrol, and diesel have been increasing for the past few days. Except on public holidays, at least 2,095,000 kiloliters to a maximum of 3,777,000 liters of petrol is being sold every day since September 17.

According to the corporation, about 3,648,000 liters to a maximum of 5,929,000 thousand liters of diesel is also consumed daily. Similarly, cooking gas was also sold from a minimum of 1,720,000 kilograms to a maximum of 2,583,000 kiloliters.

With the increase in the number of air departures during Dashain, the consumption of air-fuel has also increased. According to the corporation, the sale of aviation fuel, which was previously consumed at 522,000 liters per day, has increased to 674,000 liters.

A total of 28,320,000 liters, 328,620,000 liters of diesel, and 63,920,000 liters of aviation fuel have been consumed from 17 September to 27 September. Similarly, 148.2 million 70 thousand kilos of cooking gas have been sold.
