FinMin Poudel says will introduce budget keeping COVID in mind

Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel, who was sworn in today, has said that he will focus on introducing a budget for next fiscal year that will focus on dealing with the COVID-19 crisis.

While assuming office today, Minister Poudel mentioned that preparations for the budget of next fiscal year 2078/79 are in the final stage. He stated that the budget will focus on reviving and giving momentum to the economy that has been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic.

He also said that the government will utilise all available resources in the fight against the spread of the contagion. The minister also said the government will put in all its efforts in the treatment of patients who have been infected with the virus.

Immediately after assuming office, Finance Minister Poudel also approved a budget of over Rs 53 crores for construction of oxygen plant and pipeline in Dadeldhura Hospital, Patan Academy of Health Sciences and Bheri Hospital, Nepalgunj.
