A delegation of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) led by its President Shekhar Golchha held separate meetings with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and Finance Minister Janardhan Sharma at Singhadurbar today. During the meetings, Golchha congratulated both the prime minister and finance minister for their appointments on behalf of the federation.
The FNCCI delegation requested both PM Deuba and Minister Sharma to prioritise the private sector during the COVID-19 vaccination drive so as to revive the industries and businesses that have been hit by the impact of the coronavirus.
The delegation also requested the government to effectively implement the programmes that have been included for the revival of the private sector in the budget for the next fiscal year. It also urged the government to introduce a stimulus package for the small and medium enterprises of the country.
On the occasion, the FNCCI delegation also requested the government to resolve the issues related to trunk and dedicated electricity lines that have been going on for a long time as early as possible.
The private sector body also apprised the finance minister that most of their suggestions had been included in the budget for the next fiscal year and that the federation has also provided recommendations for the Monetary Policy. The delegation mentioned that it was hopeful that the government would include the recommendations that it had provided for the Monetary Policy.
