National Assembly Speaker Ganesh Prasad Timilsina has expressed his heartfelt wishes for happiness, peace, prosperity, good health, longevity, and progressive progress on the auspicious occasion of Baḍadashain 2079.
Speaker Timilsina, in his greeting message issued today, wished happiness, peace, prosperity, good health, long life, and progressive progress to all Nepali parents, sisters, and brothers living in the country and abroad on the auspicious occasion of the great Nepali festival Baḍadashain 2079.
"Baḍadashain 2079 will inspire all of us to maintain social-cultural unity with new zeal, vigor, enthusiasm, and energy to fulfill the aspirations of sustainable peace, good governance, development, and prosperity", the message says, "Also, prosperous Nepal, happy Nepali people." I extend my best wishes for the success of the national campaign and hope that the spirit of mutual love, compassion, and non-violence will grow.”
Our country is full of multicultural diversity. The constitution mentions Nepal as a secular state. So the message is those socio-cultural festivals, values, and practices, customs, traditions, rituals, cultures are an integral part of the state.
The message says, "If we can respect, protect and promote cultural diversity in different regions and communities, our culture will remain a valuable asset of the state." This will ensure the identity of each individual and community and help to develop the attachment of common citizens towards the state, as a result of which it will contribute significantly to strengthening federalism.
Dashain is a great Hindu festival celebrated from the Ashwin Shukla Pratipada day to Navami, worshiping Durga Bhavani on the tenth day and taking Tikajamra on the tenth day, and taking blessings from the hands of dignitaries till the full moon day.
Dashain has special importance to maintain unity among diversity by adopting multi-racial, multi-lingual, multi-religious, and multi-cultural diversity characteristics as well as protecting and promoting socio-cultural traditions, solidarity, tolerance, and harmony.
