National Assembly: Eight ordinances approved

Today's meeting of the National Assembly has approved eight different ordinances.

The meeting discussed Social Security (First Amendment) Ordinance 2021, Acid and Other Hazardous Chemicals (Regulation) Ordinance 2021, Nepal Police and State Police (Operation, Supervision and Coordination) (First Amendment) Ordinance 2021, Medicine (Third Amendment) Ordinance 2022. It has approved Ordinance 2022 on Protection of Health Workers and Health Institutions (First Amendment), Ordinance 2021 made to amend some Acts related to Criminal Offenses and Criminal Procedure, Ordinance 2021 to amend some Acts against Sexual Violence and Railway Ordinance 2021. The meeting unanimously approved all the eight ordinances.

In the meeting, Home Minister Bal Krishna Khad proposed to approve Social Security (First Amendment) Ordinance 2021, Acid and Other Hazardous Chemicals (Regulation) Ordinance 2021, Nepal Police and State Police (Operation, Supervision and Coordination) (First Amendment) Ordinance 2021. 

Similarly, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Dilendra Prasad Badu, on behalf of Minister of State for Health and Population Bhawani Prasad Khapung, had proposed to approve the Medicines (Third Amendment) Ordinance 2022 AD and Health Workers and Health Institutions Security (First Amendment) Ordinance 2022 AD.

On behalf of Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Renukumari Yadav, Minister for Supplies Badu presented a proposal to approve the Railway Ordinance, 2021 AD. On behalf of Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Govinda Prasad Sharma Koirala, Minister for Supply Badu had submitted a proposal for approval of Ordinance 2021 to amend some Acts related to Criminal Offenses and Criminal Procedure and Ordinance 2021 to amend some Acts against Sexual Violence.

At the end of the meeting, National Assembly Chairperson Ganesh Prasad Timilsina addressed the joint sitting of the Federal Parliament to be held on Tuesday (tomorrow) at 4 pm. The next meeting of the National Assembly is scheduled to be held on Tuesday at 6 pm.
