Night heritage tour to be launched in Kathmandu

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Jeevan Ram Shrestha, on Wednesday, consulted with bodies concerned regarding launching a night heritage tour in Kathmandu Valley.

On the occasion, Minister Shrestha expressed the belief that the night heritage tour would help increase the number of tourists and their stay in Kathmandu Valley. He said that the night heritage tour would help promote the art, culture, and heritage of Kathmandu Valley as the destination of foreign and domestic tourists as well as conserve heritages.

It is said the night heritage tour would be operated by making all preparations including collaboration between tourism entrepreneurs and locals, arrangement of lights, security as well as running local business till evening.

Tourism entrepreneurs said the night view of historic heritages, temples, parks, and stone spouts would be very attractive and mesmerizing.

 Representatives of local levels of Kathmandu Valley, hotel entrepreneurs, tourism entrepreneurs, police, and representatives of local organizations were present in the discussion. The night heritage tour is going to be operated to develop day and night tourism as well as to develop heritage sites as a tourism destination, according to Minister Shrestha's Secretariat.

Night heritage tours would help in the economic prosperity of locals. Minister Shrestha has mentioned operating a night heritage tour in Kathmandu Valley in his tourism revival action plan as well.
