The tourism sector of the country, which has been weakened by the Covid-19 Pandemic, is improving. In recent days, the tourism sector has become dynamic and tourism activities are also increasing.

The strongest basis for this is the tourist arrivals. Foreign tourist arrivals have been steadily rising since the beginning of 2022. According to the data provided by the Nepal Tourism Board, 58,348 foreign tourists have entered Nepal in April alone. This is an increase of 160 percent over the corresponding month of the previous year. In the month of April, 52 thousand 663 have been released. In April 2021, 22,450 tourists visited Nepal.

According to the board's analysis, tourist arrivals have more than halved compared to 2019. The growth rate of tourists has increased by 160 percent this year as compared to last year, said Mani Lamichhane, director of the board. In the month of April of that year, one lakh 9 thousand 299 tourists had come. "Tourist arrivals have been steadily rising this year. If you look at the growth rate of tourists, it has reached 53 percent by April. Last month, the growth rate was 45 percent, ”said Lamichhane.

A total of 42,006 tourists had entered Nepal in March last year. 16 thousand 975 foreign tourists entered Nepal in January and 19 thousand 766 in February. Director Lamichhane said that the tourist traffic has been increasing due to the strategic marketing of the board in the international resource market and hard work and diligence of the entrepreneurs.
