The obstruction of dumping garbage in Kathmandu Valley in Sisdol of Nuwakot continues even today.

Despite the decision of the last cabinet meeting to form a high-level committee to minimize the impact of waste management at the landfill site of Bancharedanda, an area bordering Sisdol and Dhading in Nuwakot, their concerns have not been addressed.

According to Shri Ram Dhungana, coordinator of the Bancharedanda Landfill Site Affected Areas Concern Committee, garbage has not been allowed to come from Kathmandu even today due to the protest of the locals. According to him, the demand of the locals is that the land of the Guthi of the affected area should be raked according to the legal process, the highly affected settlements of the affected area should be relocated, the road leading to the landfill should be upgraded and the landfill should be disposed of scientifically.

"Even though the government has decided to form a high-level committee and a 'Rapid Action Task Force' to address the problems in the affected areas, our legitimate demands have not been addressed," Dhungana said. Protests will continue until a clear decision is reached. ”

Residents of the affected areas have mainly demanded the relocation of settlements in various villages in Nuwakot and Dhading (various previous study reports are places at risk for human habitation) and the acquisition of about 3,000 ropanis of land in the area. The land in the area is in the name of Guthi including Pashupati and Kalmochan Bhairav to address the demand.
