Lawyers representing Speaker of the House of Representatives, Agni Prasad Sapkota, have started placing their arguments before the constitutional bench of the Supreme Court, in Kathmandu, on July 4, 2021.

The hearing of the writ petition filed by Ramesh Kumar Silwal in the Supreme Court against his dismissal and new appointment from the member secretary of the National Sports Council (NSC) has been adjourned.

According to the information posted on the Supreme Court's website, the writ petition filed by Silwal has been postponed.

Silwal had filed a writ petition at the court against his dismissal on November 14 and his appointment on December 15, making the cabinet office his opponent.

After the Ministry of Sports gave the responsibility of acting member secretary to Rakhep employee Kul Bahadur Thapa, this writ is also being removed from the top priority. Rakhep's financial and administrative hurdles have been overcome after Thapa was given the responsibility.

The Council of Ministers had dismissed Rakhep's Member Secretary Ramesh Kumar Silwal and appointed Tanka Lal Ghising through a new competitive method.

Rakhep had been without an executive for more than two months after a bench of Supreme Court Justice Hari Prasad Phuyal held a preliminary hearing on both the writ petitions and ruled that both the member secretaries could not work.

The Ministry of Sports has given the responsibility to the Rakhep staff after the players and staffs started agitation saying that the preparations for the Ninth National Games and Asian Games were hampered and the staffs had problems in getting their salaries.
