Nepal lifts deadline for night businesses

The Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to allow night businesses including hotels, restaurants, dance clubs, lounge, bars to operate 24 hours a day.

The government has lifted the deadline for night businesses.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to allow all kinds of night businesses including hotels, restaurants, dance clubs, lounge bars to operate overnight.

Home Minister Bal Krishna Khan had formed a 14-member task force led by Phanindra Mani Pokhrel, chief of the peace and security division of the ministry, to study the operation of night businesses and set standards.

An official of the ministry told online news that the decision was taken to allow the night business to operate overnight as per the recommendation of the task force.

Lately, according to the location in Nepal, the police had been closing the restaurants at 9 pm and the deadline was set on the basis of informal coordination with the local businessmen.
