The recent surge in COVID cases has resulted in a shortage of oxygen in hospitals across the country. This situation has been particularly grave for pregnant and recent mothers who are infected with COVID-19.

As a response to the increasing COVID cases in light of this crisis, the Zonta Club of Kathmandu has donated 4 oxygen concentrators to the Paropkar Maternity and Women's Hospital (Prasuti Griha) in Thapathali.

This is one of the many initiatives that Zonta has taken in the fight against the coronavirus, along with the distribution of food packets, PPE sets, and newly-born baby kits in Kathmandu and Lalitpur during the first lockdown in April 2020.

Seema Golchha, President of Zonta Club of Kathmandu, said, “With the mission of working towards the betterment of women and children, we hope that this support helps those in need."
