President Bhandari attends Constitution Day celebration

President Bidya Devi Bhandari has announced to confer various decorations and titles on 998 individuals on the occasion of the Constitution Day and National Day, 2022 at the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.

Names of the individuals to be decorated on the occasion were made public as per the decision of the Council of Ministers in accordance with Article 277 of the Nepal Constitution.

The announcement was made in a statement issued today by the Spokesperson of the Office of the President, Sagar Acharya.


President Bidya Devi Bhandari attended the main function organized on the occasion of the 8th Constitution Day and National Day at Army Pavilion, Tundikhel, on Monday.

Also present on the occasion were Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, acting Chief Justice Deepak Kumar Karki, Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota, National Assembly Chairperson Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, ministers, constitutional bodies chiefs, high-placed government officials, chiefs and representatives of foreign diplomatic missions in Kathmandu.

On the occasion, flowers were showered through a helicopter of the Nepal Army while several cultural processions along with musical bands of the Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force were performed with the national anthem.

Prime Minister Deuba had addressed the special ceremony. --
