South African president tests positive for COVID-19

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has contracted COVID-19. He is undergoing treatment for the coronavirus infection, stated the Office of the President of South Africa. According to the office, Cyril Ramaphosa is undergoing treatment since Sunday night.

He had previously received two doses of the coronavirus vaccine. Therefore, it is understood that he does not have any major health issues. However, he is said to be under the care of senior doctors at a military hospital. The virus has spread to many countries around the world.

But he has not been told whether he is an omicron or not. Many countries around the world have imposed travel bans against South Africa since Omicron was found in South Africa.
