The first batch of Pfizer's new vaccine, Bivalent, which is said to work in controlling Omicron, has arrived in Kathmandu.

In the first phase, 3,45,000 vaccines were brought to Kathmandu on Monday morning. The vaccine will be stored in Teku and will be sent to all provinces as needed in a few days, according to the Department of Health Services.

According to Dr Surendra Chaurasiya, the head of the supply branch of the Department of Health Services, the government of Nepal requested the vaccine from Covax.

According to experts, Bivalent vaccines are more effective in preventing the infection of Omicron's subvarients.
