The campaign to give medicine against elephantiasis has started in 15 districts. The campaign will be conducted today from February 23 to 26.

In Jhapa, Morang, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Rautahat, Sarlahi, Bara, Rasuwa, Lamjung, Parbat, Baglung, Kapilvastu, Banke, Dang, and Kailali districts, a campaign against diseases has been conducted.

Everyone who is 2 years old and above should take this medicine. However, according to the Ministry of Health, children under two years of age, pregnant women, those who have given birth for up to 7 days, and bedridden patients should not take the medicine.

The ministry has requested that the trained health workers set up booths in ward offices, health institutions, community buildings, schools, cooperatives, places of worship, etc. to administer medicine so that they can go to their convenient places to take medicine.

Health workers say that taking medicine will destroy the parasites of elephantiasis in our body and protect us from it. If infected with elephantiasis, transmitted by mosquito bites, the legs, breasts, and testicles will swell and it can even kill a person.
