Even after 13 years of efforts in Baglung, elephantiasis has not been eradicated due to the negligence of the people in taking common medicine against elephantiasis.

Elephantiasis, which has been cured by taking medicine for six consecutive years, has not been cured even for 13 years as citizens are not responsible for the disease. In order to avoid this disease, elephantiasis has to take medicine against the disease six times in a row.

Although the risk of the disease can be avoided only by taking the medicine six times in a row, the general medicine campaign will be started in Baglung for the 13th time from March 11. According to Suraj Guraun, Chief of the Health Office, Baglung, the campaign has been started for the 13th time as eight people were infected with elephantiasis in Narayan place and two in Kushmisera before the 13th time.

"Elephantiasis, which is in the process of eradication in Nepal, is yet to be eradicated in only 10 districts, including Baglung. Initially, it was fed under the supervision of health volunteers. "It has been neglected by the educated and educated people. Now, once and for all, let's take part in the common medicine, let's get rid of elephantiasis."

In Baglung Municipality-14, Narayansthan and Jamini Municipality-1, Kushseera, elephantiasis has not been eradicated and the entire district has to be given medicine. According to Laxmi Sharma, Public Health Inspector at the Health Office, the campaign has to be conducted for the 13th time in Baglung as the infection is less than two percent and is not considered as a public health problem.
