MoHP urges to keep precautions in view as COVID cases spike

The Ministry of Health and Population has urged everyone to adopt precautionary measures and avoid crowds due to the rise in COVID-19 cases.

Assistant Spokesperson of the Ministry, Dr. Samir Kumar Adhikari urged all to mandatorily wear masks and use sanitizer in crowded areas in a press release issued yesterday.

The Ministry has also urged everybody to compulsorily wear masks in government, non-government offices, and populated areas and asked offices to arrange sanitizer at their entrance gates.

Likewise, the Ministry called for all airports and public transport service providers including flight operators to make mask-wearing and sanitizer use mandatory.

The Ministry has asked public places including schools, universities, religious spots, commercial and recreation centers, and stadiums for mandatory use of masks. The health facilities are asked to put necessary measures for pandemic control and treatment management.

Likewise, the ministry has directed the authorities concerned to effectively operate the anti-COVID vaccination program and asked those unvaccinated to receive inoculation services.

The ministry has also asked the authorities to strengthen vigilance in all international flights and surface entry points and also conduct campaign for COVID-19 sample tests in crowded areas.
