Nepal reports 1090 new COVID cases

The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Tuesday confirmed the detection of 1090 new cases of coronavirus infection. Out of which, 530 people have tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 in the antigen test. With this, the total positive COVID count has reached 145577 (Antigen).

Likewise, the MoHP has recorded 2 deaths from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. The ministry on May 19, 2021, recorded 184 deaths, the highest daily number. As of Monday, the nationwide death toll from COVID has reached 11,974. Presently, there are 5806 active cases in Nepal.

Meanwhile, 438 patients of COVID-19 have recovered in the past 24 hours. As of Monday, a total of 973,405 people have recovered from the viral disease, the data released by the MoHP showed. Presently, the recovery rate stands at 98.2 percent while the fatality rate is 1.2 percent.
