Over 57,000 people enrolled in health insurance policy scheme in Siraha

More than 57,000 people have enrolled in the health insurance policy in Siraha district.

The health insurance policy scheme was implemented from February 14, 2021, in the district. A total of 57,188 people have enrolled in the health insurance policy scheme so far since February 14.

Pashupati Narayan Chaudhary of Health Insurance Board, Lahan, said that out of 57,188 people, who have enrolled in the health insurance policy scheme: 28,957 are men while 28,216 are women.

Chaudhary shared that the Board has received 10,000 more applications for the same and preparation has now been made to register the application.

Out of the people having the health insurance policy scheme, around 12,000 have received services from different health institutions.

Similarly, 24,185 people have the health insurance policy scheme in Saptari district, where the scheme was implemented last year.

Lahan branch of Health Insurance Board has been registering the name for the health insurance scheme making publicity about its importance, and facilities to be received, its process by mobilising facilitator in every ward.

There is a provision that a family of five members could get medical services worth Rs 100,000 annually after paying a Rs 3,500 premium every year.

Similarly, a family of more than five members has to pay a Rs 7,000 premium annually that covers medical services worth Rs 120,000.
