Lately, telemedicine service has been becoming effective in remote villages here.

The telemedicine service operated by Char Bhanyang Service Center in Thanamaula of Phalewas Municipality-8 is becoming effective. They have been able to get access to healthcare easily after starting telemedicine, an alternative medical service targeted at remote people who have been deprived of access to health care for years due to lack of manpower.

Citizens here are happy after foreign specialist doctors in Kathmandu, Pokhara and UK started providing health services through internet in rural areas. At present, the center is crowded with patients. Roshan Gurung, head of Charbhanjyang Health Center, informed that the patients suffering from alkaline, mental, urinary, dermatological and drug related problems are receiving health services from local and foreign specialists.

The center has been keeping up the problems of the patients with the doctors through Skype through internet and the medical treatment is being done on the advice of those doctors. The center, which was established in 2068 BS, has so far treated about 23,000 patients. From here, more than 200 patients have been sent out to the concerned specialist doctors for treatment. Gurung informed that more than 700 doctors from all over the world are providing services in this organization.

Some are taking regular medication. Arjun Kunwar, 38, of Phalewas Municipality-8, who has been suffering from drug addiction for a long time, said that he has recovered after receiving treatment from the same center. He said, "I was unable to walk due to my drug problem. I came to the center and underwent regular treatment based on the advice of a specialist doctor. Now I have recovered and am able to walk easily." He said that his problem has been solved after undergoing throat surgery on the advice of a foreign doctor. Dozens of patients like him have come here and recovered, the center said.

According to the Center, the patients coming here need to be admitted and treated in coordination with the Western Regional Hospital, Pokhara. The Char Bhanjyang Health Center, established in 2068 BS on the initiative of Char Bhanjyang Tamu Samaj UK, has been providing primary health care and telemedicine services to around 25 people daily.

After the telemedicine service became effective, patients from Phalewas Municipality, Kushma Municipality, Mahashila Municipality, Vihadi Municipality and neighboring districts of Baglung and Gulmi also come here to seek the service. Apart from telemedicine services, the center also organizes free health camps in the presence of foreign specialist doctors every year. The center has also been conducting health education campaigns for health awareness, said Chief Gurung.

The center has stated that ambulance service has also been operated to make the health service of the organization more effective
