A 'Walk-in Cooler’ has been installed at the district health office to increase vaccine storage capacity. Director of Gandaki Province Health Directorate Khim Bahadur Khadka inaugurated the cooler amidst a program on Wednesday, The cooler which was built with the financial assistance of the Ministry of Health and Population has 10 refrigerators.
It may be noted that the supply and distribution of anti-COVID-19 vaccination was a big challenge due to the low capacity for storing vaccines. The added capacity would be enough to store the vaccines required for Baglung, Parbat, Myagdi, and Mustang districts, Director Khadka added. “It would help make the vaccination service effective”, he said.
With this four walk-in coolers have come into operation in Gandaki province, Khadka informed. Vaccines required for the five million population can be stored.
