A bicycle lane to be constructed in Illam

A new bicycle lane is going to be built in Suryodaya Municipality of Ilam. The municipality is going to build a bicycle path with a glass bridge. It is said that a bicycle path will be constructed from Dunde Gara in Kanyam of Suryodaya Municipality to Purne Danda where the historical Khalanga is located.

It is said that this road will help the income of 4,875 local families. After the construction of the road, which will be operational within a year, cyclists from all over the country will be able to travel on the Nagbeli Path while seeing the beauty of Illam.

 The architect of Suryodaya Municipality and the focal person of the program Sijan Gadal informed that after the agreement between the municipality and the New Development Partnership Fund was signed on the 11th of Jestha, the preliminary work of the road started. According to Gadal, a 150 meter long glass bridge will be built in Manedanda of the municipality under the project. Also, a museum of the endangered Lepcha tribe will be established. The project plans to build a monument park, a health park and four toilets.

It is said that the cycle path is a new project in the district. It is said that this program, which can be developed as a new product for tourists in the district, will be conducted by the municipality itself. After the construction of this cycle path, not only Nepali cyclists but also tourists from abroad are expected to come here.
