Govt to give public holiday to mourn the plane crash

The government has decided to make tomorrow a public holiday to mourn the plane crash in Pokhara. The emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers held today has expressed deep condolences to the deceased in the accident of Yeti Airlines in Pokhara. The government has also decided to set up a call center at the Tribhuvan International Airport to get information about the accident.

The government has also decided to facilitate the identification of the bodies of those who died in the accident and take them to their places.

It has been decided to form a 5-member accident investigation commission to identify the cause of the accident and give a report with suggestions to prevent such accidents from happening again in the future. Former secretary Nagendra Ghimire has been appointed as the coordinator of the commission. 45 days have been fixed for reporting.

The Council of Ministers has decided to give instructions to all aviation services to conduct technical tests compulsorily in order to prevent air accidents, especially in the domestic direction in the coming days. The Civil Aviation Authority will monitor it.
