An infection of 'African Swine Fever' (ASF) has been reported in boars of Shuklaphanta National Park.

Kishore Mehta, chief conservation officer of Shuklaphanta National Park, informed that African swine fever has been detected in wild boars of the park. According to him, African swine fever was found in wild boars during testing at the central laboratory in Kathmandu. The risk of infection in other animals has also increased after the infection was seen inside the park.

African swine fever was first reported in Kanchanpur's Bangur Farm last January. Pansingh Thagunna, a senior veterinarian at the Veterinary Hospital and Animal Services Expert Center Kanchanpur, said that due to the lack of treatment, the disease can cause great damage to animals.
