Sita Air aircraft's tyres burst while landing at Humla airport; escapes accident

An aircraft of Sita Air survived an accident after its rear tyres burst while landing at Simkot Airport in Humla district on Wednesday evening.

The Donier plane carrying cargo from Surkhet suffered a tyre puncture while landing on the runway of the airport.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, Simkot branch manager Mohan Giri, the tyres punctured while the aircraft was being brought to the parking lot after landing. The rear wheel tyres punctured dragging the aircraft.

The crew members aboard the plane are said to be safe. The airport authorities stated that there was no other damage even though the tyres of the plane burst. Sita Air has stated that it is preparing to bring new tyres from Nepalgunj or Surkhet.
