Animals suffering from Cholera get vaccination

The disease has been brought under control in Sukekot of Nisdi Gaonpalika-2 of Palpa district. The disease had spread to about 300 cows, buffaloes and goats in the village.

Om Bahadur Mashrangi, chief of the Nisdi Animal Branch, said that the infection has been reduced after the treatment was started after testing the samples at the central laboratory. Sukekot village had been suffering from positive cholera for the past three weeks.

According to Mashrangi, the head of the branch, the animals have been vaccinated against ringworm and 470 non-infected animals have been vaccinated against the disease. "Continuous treatment quickly stopped the infection, and now the movement of animals in the area is banned until the animal is completely healed," he said.

Three buffaloes, nine goats, and two buffaloes have died of the disease. According to the Animal Husbandry Branch, 16 households in the village are suffering from cholera. According to the animal technician, the infection has spread from the sheep brought from Pokhara to the village for Panchawali worship.
