Bagmati state's budget passed by a majority

The budget presented by the Bagmati state government for the fiscal year 2022/23 AD has been passed by a majority vote.

 The state government had brought an estimated budget of Rs. 70.93 billion for the coming fiscal year. The budget was presented by Minister Jammakattel in the state assembly on June 16.

Out of the total budget of Rs. 70.93 billion, Rs. 19.2 billion was allocated for current expenditure, Rs. 41.56 billion for capital expenditure, Rs. 8 billion for financial transfer and Rs. 2 billion for financial management.

In today's three-phase meeting of the state assembly, the appropriation bill of the state government and the bill to implement the finance proposal, 2022 AD were discussed. The meeting also passed Bill 2022 to implement the financial proposal.

During the meeting, 19 MPs had proposed spending cuts on the budget titles of various ministries and agencies. Gurung, CPN-UML's Goma Bhurtel, Ashamaya Tamang, Binod Kumar Khadka, Narayan Prasad Silwal, Deepak Niraula, Saraswati Basnet, Maina Achhami, Rajesh Shakya, Belimaya Ghale, Prakash Shrestha, Rameshwar Funyal, Saresh Nepal and Sita Lama.
