Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand has said that the government has given special priority to the establishment of a Broader Outpost (BOP) for border security. Speaking at the inaugural session of the 10th General Convention of the Federation of Indigenous Peoples of Nepal, which started today in Kawasoti, Nawalpur, he said, “The government is just establishing BOP. We are setting up a border outpost with the presence of security personnel for border security. ” Arguing that the infrastructure is still not adequate for border security, Minister Khan said that the government is working to establish the required number of BOPs.

He mentioned that the border was protected because the indigenous tribes were working day and night to protect Nepal's geography, Nepal's soil, and water. He said, "Since we are living in Kathmandu, we have not protected the border of the Himalayan and Terai lands. It has been done by the indigenous parents, brothers, and sisters living in the same land." He added, “Sherpas, Rai Limbu, Tamangs, Magar Gurungs living in the mountains have fought for the protection of many indigenous communities or Tharu, Kumal, Yadav, Pashi, Dhobi Holan or other Nepali people living on the border. Nationality has been protected. Therefore, we all Nepalis should respect each other. ”

He said that the state has the responsibility to promote and protect the endangered castes affiliated with the Federation of Indigenous Tribes. He said that the government was committed to taking the reports of various ethnic commissions positively and addressing them accordingly.

He also said that the government was positive about amending the constitution raised by the federation. He said, "We may be correcting and changing some of the shortcomings in the constitution made by the Constituent Assembly, but there are many good things in the constitution." Stating that it is important for everyone to assimilate the constitution made by the people, he said that it can be amended in time.

The General Convention, which started with the slogan 'Our Movement for Constitutional Amendment for Federalism with Identity and Autonomy, 10th General Convention in Favor of New Social Consensus for Indigenous Rights', will end on Thursday. The convention is attended by 420 delegates and observers from home and abroad. It has been stated that new leadership will be elected unanimously in the general convention. It is also stated that some agreement has been reached in this regard.

Although the General Convention was supposed to be held in three years, now it has been held at an interval of five years. Due to the Kovid epidemic, the General Convention took place two years later than specified in Vidya. The General Convention will discuss the movement of the Indigenous Peoples of Nepal and the future course of action. Similar scientific amendments have also been prepared.
