With the sharp rise in dengue patients of late, the Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City has prepared to begin a door-to-door campaign.

Officials said that the dengue spread in wards no. 4, 5, 10, and 11 for some weeks is not controlled yet.

The District Health Office, Makawanpur, shared that the number of dengue patients reached 535 in those four wards by Thursday afternoon.

Likewise, 95 dengue patients were reported in wards no. 2, 4, 5, and 6 of Manaharai Rural Municipality in the district.

Senior Public Health Officer of District Health Office Dipak Tiwari said a massive door-to-door campaign would be started from September 4 in all wards of the Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City and some wards of Manaharai Rural Municipality.

So far, the dengue patients from Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City and Manaharai Rural Municipality have been sent to Bir Hospital, Patan Hospital, and Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) in Kathmandu.

Likewise, dengue patients with mild effects are being treated in the Hetauda Hospital, Churehil Hospital, and Bharatpur Hospital.

Meanwhile, the health officials have complained about a short supply of testing kits to confirm dengue infection and have asked the Ministry of Health and Population for its sufficient supply.
