CCMC meeting to discuss 'omicron' variant

The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the 'omicron' variant as 'Voice of Concern'. The variant was first detected in South Africa and it is spreading across the globe.

Likewise, Australia and the United Kingdom had already confirmed the detection of the omicron variant.

Similarly, the Government of Nepal is taking high precautions as the risk of a new variant of coronavirus (Covid-19) 'Omicron' increases.

COVID Crisis Management Center (CCMC) will do a review meeting of the omicron variant to prepare against the variant as a precautionary measure.

Likewise, the meeting will review border tightening and international flights.

The experts have warned to adopt high vigilance as there is a possibility of a new variant coming to Nepal.

The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has requested to stay in quarantine compulsory for people who enter Nepal via South Africa.
