Chance of rain through Saturday

Till next Saturday, there will be partial to normal rain in most places across the country.

Meteorologist Ganga Nagarkoti of the Department of Water and Meteorology informed that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in most parts of the country till Saturday due to the active monsoon.

"There is a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places in Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces", he said. At present, the Monsoon low-pressure line is in the vicinity of Sardar place in the west and it is located a little north of Sardar place in the east.

The department said that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some parts of the country in the next 24 hours and heavy rain in one or two places in Province No. 1, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini and there is a risk of soil erosion and landslides in these areas. Everyone is requested to exercise vigilance as the water level in the river canals and Khare river may rise and the daily life/transport area may also be affected.

During the night, there is a chance of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some parts of the country, with partial to moderate showers over the country. It is said that there is a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places of Province No. 1, Madhes Province and Bagmati Province.

According to the latest information from the weather forecast division, the minimum temperature of Kathmandu Valley today is 19.5 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature is 29.0 degrees Celsius.
