Nepali Congress, CPN (UML) and Biplav-led CPN (Maoist) have formed an alliance in Thawang village of Rolpa district for the upcoming local elections.

The alliance was formed after five candidates, including the Congress, UML and Biplav-led independents, withdrew their candidacies. Congress treasurer Bam Bahadur Roka said, "We have decided to withdraw the nomination of the president by supporting an independent candidate in Thabang."

Ramesh Roka had given his candidature in Thabang from the Nepali Congress. Nakas Gharti, who was nominated by CPN-UML, has also withdrawn his nomination. The CPN (Maoist) had tried to move Amit Gharti forward. Only Amit Gharti, Ajay Gharti, Darjit Rokamagar and Mahesh Budhamagar were nominated from the CPN (Maoist). In the end, all three parties agreed on Darjeet's name.

Santosh Budha, a member of the CPN (Maoist) central secretariat, said, "We support Darjit, and everyone has agreed on his name." This time, the Congress, UML and the CPN (Maoist) are standing united against the Maoist center. In Rolpa, 114 candidates withdrew their candidacies from 10 local levels.
