Courtesy meeting of Chinese Ambassador with HM Khand

Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Hou Yanchi had a courtesy meeting with Home Minister Balkrishna Khand.

In the meeting held at the Ministry of Home Affairs today, there was a discussion about strengthening the mutual relations between the two countries, according to the Secretariat of the Minister of Home Affairs. In the meeting, Home Minister Khand made it clear that Nepal is in favor of the One China policy.

"Nepal is in favor of the one-China policy, we are committed to prevent any activity against the neighboring country in Nepal", said his press coordinator Madhusudan Bhattarai, quoting the statement of the Home Minister.

He also said that Nepal is sticking to the non-aligned foreign policy and the principle of Panchsheel. Home Minister Khand said that peace with other neighboring countries and China is in Nepal's interest. During the meeting, Ambassador Yanchi said that China is ready to help in the management of disasters in Nepal.

Ambassador Yanchi informed that China expressed its happiness that the government announced the election of the House of Representatives and the Provincial Assembly only on Thursday.

Saying that China will always be in favor of the system where representatives are elected by people's vote, Ambassador Yanchi said that China is ready to cooperate with the new government that will be elected by popular vote.

He informed Home Minister Khand that the session of the Chinese Communist Party is also going to be held this year.
