The meeting of the House of Representatives has started. In today's meeting, there is an agenda to discuss the principles and priorities of the Appropriation Bill for the Fiscal Year 2022/23 (excluding the tax proposal).

Finance Minister Janardan Sharma had presented the principles and priorities of the Appropriation Bill for the coming years in the meeting on Tuesday. There is a schedule to discuss the principles and priorities of the Appropriation Bill of FY 2022/23 in the National Assembly on Thursday.

Participating in the discussion, CPN (UML) MP Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai said that there was no basis for reaching socialism in the principles and priorities of the Appropriation Bill and neglect of public health and education was neglected. Stressing on the need for the government to focus on increasing capital expenditure by reducing trade deficit, he said that alternative measures should be taken to prevent the country's economy from coming to a standstill.

"Reducing the consumption of petroleum products and promoting the use of alternative energy is not seen in the principles and priorities of the bill," he said.
