Elderly injured by leopard attack

An old man was injured today by a leopard attack in Baitadi. The injured is 70-year-old Ganesh Bahadur Chand of Melauli Municipality-2 Kot.

Narayan Chand, head of health department of Melauli Municipality, informed that Chand was attacked by a leopard in a field near his house. In the morning, the cheetah, which had taken goat from Chand's cage, was trapped in a nearby garden. While searching for goat, Chand was attacked by a leopard in a nearby field.

Chand's neck and hand were injured by the leopard attack. He is being treated at the local health post. In the Lower Sorad region, leopards have been entering human settlements from time to time. It is said that leopards are entering human settlements due to lack of habitat and food.
