Extreme cold in Humla due to continuous snowfall

Due to heavy snowfall in the Humla district, roads have frozen in places including the district headquarters Simkot. According to a local white goldsmith, the locals have been suffering from cold, fever, and hair loss due to the extreme cold.

The northern part of Namkha village municipality has also been closed. Locals said that they could not move from one village to another in Limi's Jang, Halji, and Til. Those villages have also been deprived of communication services and the roads have been blocked due to snow.

Acting Chief of the District Health Service Office, Prem Bahadur Singh, said that health workers have been deployed in the wards of Simkot village to vaccinate due to heavy snowfall in Humla district.

Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Hildung Distribution Center has said that it was forced to cut electricity due to snowfall.

According to Hastevir Shahi of Simkot Village Municipality-8, Yangu, 15 out of 60 households have been without electricity and 45 households have been deprived of electricity.
