The government has announced a campaign to provide affordable and eco-friendly housing for the extremely poor, dalits, endangered and marginalized. The policy and program for the coming fiscal year 2022/23 presented by President Vidyadevi Bhandari in the joint sitting of the federal parliament today states that the slums and displaced families at risk will be relocated to safer places.
Public buildings in earthquake sensitive areas will be made earthquake resistant by incineration and the post-earthquake reconstruction work will be completed within the next two years. In the policy and program, it is mentioned that necessary policy and legal arrangements will be made to develop the physical infrastructure including utility corridor by integrating various services to make the city organized and beautiful. Similarly, construction work of utility corridor from Tribhuvan International Airport to Maitighar will be started next year.
It is mentioned that the Central Secretariat Singha Durbar will be made beautiful and attractive as per the master plan and necessary government office building will be constructed in Nawalparasi.
