Indian PM visiting Nepal for the fifth time

The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi is scheduled to pay an official visit to Nepal on Monday. Prime Minister Modi is going to visit Nepal at the invitation of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba. He will visit Lumbini on the day of Buddha Jayanti. This is his fifth visit to Nepal since becoming Prime Minister in 2014.

 Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to attend a special function in Lumbini on the auspicious occasion of Buddha Jayanti, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 Along with Prime Minister Deuba, the Prime Minister of India is scheduled to pay obeisance at the Mayadevi temple, lay the foundation stone of a Buddhist culture and heritage center in the monastery area of ​​Lumbini and address a special function. Preparations have been made to celebrate Buddha Jayanti at the Lumbini International Buddhist Meditation Center and Assembly Hall.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Foreign Minister Dr Narayan Khadka will pay a courtesy call on the Prime Minister of India. While in Lumbini, the Prime Ministers of both the countries are scheduled to hold bilateral talks on Nepal-India cooperation and issues of mutual interest. Prime Minister Deuba will host a luncheon in honor of the Prime Minister of India and the visiting delegation.

 The people of both the countries are confident that the visit of the Prime Minister of India will help in deepening the centuries-old socio-cultural ties between the two countries.

 India, meanwhile, said Prime Minister Modi's visit to Nepal would be useful in advancing India's "First Neighborhood Policy" and would continue the tradition of regular high-level exchanges between India and Nepal.

 A press release issued by the Ministry of External Affairs of India announcing Prime Minister Modi's visit to Nepal said that the visit emphasized on the common heritage of the people of both the countries.
