Industry Minister Badu ensures policy reforms in industry

Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Dilendra Prasad Badu said policy reforms in the industry would be carried out to attract foreign investment.

The Ministry was at work to make programmes to resume the sick industries, and the process would complete in next month, said the minister while inaugurating a workshop with the theme of 'foreign employment, social security, investment and foreign currency deposit' organised here on Thursday by the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA).

To make the market safe and reliable, an appropriate framework would be developed after talks with experts, he said. Stating that the country would not become like Sri Lanka as reported, he however stressed the need for being cautious and moving ahead with appropriate policies, plans and programmes.

The ministry would facilitate as per need in creating an environment conducive for non-resident Nepali people to invest in the country as Nepali citizens, he ensured.

Earlier, Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Sher Bahadur Kunwar said the country would gradually open new foreign employment destinations in the coming days. To make foreign employment safe and reliable, an appropriate framework would be developed after discussions with experts, he said while inaugurating the first session of the workshop.
