Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand has said the government has put the infrastructure, the important pillar of development, in top priority.

Inaugurating a bridge constructed at Tinau River of Rupandehi on Saturday, Minister Khand shared that with the infrastructure development, there would be facilities for the people as well as peace and security get strengthened.

He opined, "Infrastructure development is the journey of prosperity with peace." The construction of the bridge started 12 years ago.

Saying the bridge would connect the Buddha circuit and help establish brotherly relations among four cities, the Home Minister expressed the belief that the bridge would play a significant role in the promotion of domestic tourism in the area, including Lumbini.

On the occasion, the Minister for Rural and Urban Development of Lumbini Province, Dilli Chaudhary, said the provincial government was ready to play a supportive role in the activities being carried out by the federal government.

The 185-meter long and 11-meter wide bridge was constructed at a cost of Rs 117.2 million.
