Chairman of the main opposition party CPN (UML) KP Sharma Oli has accused the Election Commission of biased decision of the people's representative to resign before the election.
Addressing the party's first politburo meeting today to discuss issues including preparations for the local elections, he said there were no positive signs regarding holding the elections on time and urged to be vigilant against such conspiracies.
Chairman Oli also accused the commission of making decisions against the UML on the basis of its alliance with the ruling coalition in the decision to change the color of the election symbol. He said that the party was working for the expansion of relations with various countries including the neighbors to protect the national interest and advance self-respect.
Conducting the meeting, General Secretary of the party Shankar Pokharel expressed his commitment to build an untouchability-free nation while paying high respect to the discriminated community on the occasion of the Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
The first politburo meeting after the 10th National General Convention will discuss the analysis of the current political situation, the party's manifesto for the local elections, and the criteria for selecting candidates. The Politburo meeting is going to be held on the eve of the third meeting of the Central Committee to be held in Kathmandu on March 25 and 26.
